MOB and MOG

Re: MOB and MOG

I can understand you being upset, but like everyone else, I agree that if your mom isn't upset, you shouldn't worry too much about it. I do think it is nice that they will complement each other though.

now if that would have happened in my family it would be a big deal!!!! its not something that should cause you stress but technically she should have waited until your mother chose her dress......hey maybe it will look nice in the pics!

my MIL didn't wait. It bothered me a little bit, but my mom didn't seem to mind as much. So, I didn't say anything. And my FMIL picked a champagne colored dress, too... which in all honesty, I REALLY wanted my mom to consider. I didn't want my mom wearing black again...but now the champagne option is out the window. Oh well. I guess we have to pick our battles.

although i think your fmil was wrong and should have waited or asked your mom what color she was wearing and then done something different accordingly... as long as your mom is okay with it and since the dresses are purchased it really isn't 'worth' getting upset over now...

but you have a right to be a little peeved! i think it's completely normal especially if fmil knew your mom's color beforehand. she should have considered her. but, what's done is done and the good thing is your mom is being mature about it and try to remember that no matter what--you'll be the center of attention on your big day!

i know how you feel in a way. my mom stated she was wearing navy in front of my fmil when we were all discussing it and then two weeks later my fmil announces (after stating months earlier her 'best' color was beige) that she wants navy!! she did this while we were at a flower appt. now, the dress was not bought yet so i had FH tell her up and down to stay away from the colors of the flag!! red (my girl's color), white (my color), and blue (my mom's color)... lol anything else in the rainbow--knock yourself out!!! lol but i was pissed at first-- b/c i feel she did it on purpose without a doubt in my mind.

so i feel for ya

yeah exactly-- b/c once it's bought what can you do?? but i agree with you sarah--that was not right... tell your mom to try navy or a different shade of deep blue!! those are beautiful

It really shouldn't matter..

My mom bought the same color as the girls except in a 2 piece gown, I am not sure what my Aunt and Dh Aunt is wearing..

Here are the photos of the girls dresses......

I'm not going to lie. This would upset me too. Not only because it's the same color, but b/c it's so close to white/ivory. I would think that she would okay that particular color with you before she picked it. I'm sorry this happened to you.

Mine too!! My mother would have FLIPPED! As it was she was annoyed that her cousin wore the same color as she did.

But since your mother doesn't care, don't worry about it.

As long as the Mothers are fine with it then that should ease your mind.

honestly, nobody will care. There's absolutely no reason to get upset over it. It's not like they're wearing the same dress - and even if they did, the same dress can look totally different on two different bodies.

In the end nobody will even remember what color they wore. It's such a tiny detail, it's not worth worrying about.
