So now that my dress is ordered and I have a good handle on which bridesmaid dress I'm going with, I'm just wondering how soon should we start shopping for my mom's dress? Do they usually take a few months to come in after ordering? I'm not getting married until August 2010 so I know there is time, just curious.
I'm getting married this August and am going shopping with both moms at the end of the month. I've been told that as long as they order by the end of May, they'll have the dresses in time.
i got married in october and my mom didn't start looking for her dress until feb or march and probably ordered sometime in march. it came in in about 3 months. your mom could probably start looking by the end of the year and even into january 2010 and that should give her enough time.
We were told to order no later than 5 months prior. My Mom had seen a dress in a magazine when I first got engaged and loved it so she tried it on at the end of March and ordered it, so it was like 6 months prior. HTH
My mom ordered her dress last December and it came in end of March and its by Jovani..I think they usually take about the same amount of time as the bridesmaid dresses..3-4 months on average
My mom ordered her dress about a month ago (about 5 months before the wedding). The bridal consultants were telling her that she needed to hurry and make a decision b/c sometimes it takes 4 months to get a dress in + alterations. My mom ordered the dress through the store I got my dress from b/c she liked the staff there. Well, the dress came in a week after she ordered it!!! So, it's hit or miss. It could take a week, a month, or 3 months to get a dress in. My MIL just ordered her dress yesterday and they told her, it should probably come in by June. So, we'll see.
