MOB dress HELP

MOB dress HELP

Ok I have to take my Mom for her dress soon.
I probably have to buy it. My Mom still thinks it's 1960 and fancy dresses are like 50 bucks...

My Mom is petite and fussy. Also very prudish. She is about a size 10-12 street because she has big boobs.
I can't afford to spend more than like 200-250...
I want to get her something she might wear again.

I need the place to be in NYC or Queens as she lives in the Bronx.

Any suggestions? PLEASE!
This is going to be worse than finding my dress.

Re: MOB dress HELP

My mom got her dress at Bloomies. We went all over creation and she couldn't find one she liked. Then we decided to hit up the department stores and she found a bunch in Nordstroms, Saks and Bloomingdales.

She ended up getting her dress for a little over $200 because it was on sale and she had a coupon.

Try the dept. stores - you'd be surprised what they have.

If you're willing to go to LI, there's a great place called Totally You in Bellmore. They're fantastic.

I would say since your mom is so small, start with a department store. They will be much cheaper then going to a Bridal shop. She could also look at Bridesmaid dress. My FMIL found a bridesmaid dress that she really liked and it was way way cheaper then any MOB dress she tried on. You can't even tell its a Bridesmaid Dress.
You could also check out RK Bridal in the city.

Help that helps

Charisol Bridal in Flushing has a good selection. If your mom is in the Bronx you could try Amelia's Bridal in Mount Vernon. I bought my gown and my BM's gowns there. They have good prices and are great to work with. It is just north of the Bronx.
