MOB DRESS Horror Stories

So my mother tells me today that she has an idea of what kind of dress she wants. Nothing light colored, nothing heavy in material. (Keep in mind we have a very strained relationship and has *yet* to ask to see my dress - or even the pics of me in it!)

My 54 y/o mother would like to wear a garet red with black sheer overlay, off-the-shoulder, tea length dress. Yes, she'd like to match my flowers (which will be reddish) and my BMs (who are wearing black tea length dresses).

Please tell me I'm not alone - anyone else have MOB Dress horror stories??

sounds like we have similar mother-daughter relationships! my mother didn't wear anything too bad (pale mint green gown... nothing to do with cranberry dresses bm's wore) but also didn't tell me nor ask what she should wear til about a week before. and i didn't bother asking either so....
