So my mom and I went on our first (and VERY unsuccessful) shopping trip for her dress. We are going now because FMIL has said she wants to wait until my mom gets her dress (very respectful!) so they are not too similar and my mom gets pick of the litter. However, we had absolutely NO LUCK. She wanted to get a dress off the rack, but I'm not sure how feasible that is.
Anyway, anyone have any ideas as to where we could look? My mom is plus sized so we need to find a place with a decent selection. We are going to try Sugarplum in Lynbrook next time we look, but where else can we look? Any ideas?

I AM IN THE SAME BOAT AS YOU!!!! its been an ordeal.....we've been to all the department stores and no luck, i felt like they were more guest dresses the MOB....anyway theres another great store in bellmore on merrick road called Totally You which carries plus size samples, sugarplum is our next stop and we also went to Davids Bridal.......oh and one last is called Queen of Hearts in Merrick I think they are a little pricy from what I've heard though....good luck!

We actually started at Macy's. I should list the stores we tried today:
Macy's David's Bridal Lord and Taylor Bloomingdale's

Estelle's in Farmingdale! They have a ton of dresses and they're off the rack. They even have petite. My mom goes there for all of her stuff.
