I'm going MOB dress shopping with my mom & sister on Columbus day weekend. My mom is a little insecure about her body (even though she shouldn't be.) She's a beautiful hour glass - probably a size twelve, but I KNOW it's going to a tough trip and she's going to be picky & frustrated.
Can anyone recommend a place to MOB dresses? Maybe a big selection with some plus size options just in case? Preferably with a patient and kind staff.

3 years ago, my mom got her MOG dress at Davids Bridal and they had a TON of options, believe it or not and she was a size 16. And we went during the daytime on a weekday and it was very mellow and enjoyable

FMIL had some issues with her appearance even though I think she looks great. She found her dress at Estelles. HTH!! They had a ton of options.

My mom, a plus size woman, got her dress at Omnibus in Babylon. They were amazing and have a lot of options in many sizes! Check them out...I think we worked with Lisa? Very nice and honest, in a good way!

FMIL was really dreading finding a gown--she's more of a jeans and softball jersey kind of person--but found one at Totally You in Bellmore. (She has a few friends/colleagues who have needed gowns for weddings who had success there.)

My mom got her dress at Commack Bridal Center and she loves it. She is a 14/16 and they had plenty for her to try on.
I have also heard good things about Queen of Hearts.

My mom had a hard time for my brother's wedding. Queen of Hearts (I think in Bellmore) and Sugarplum in Garden City had plus size dresses.

My mom just got hers at Renates in Lindenhurst. They were soo awesome and my mom is super picky! They had a wonderful selection!

my mom got hers in a dress store in queens, so probably wouldn't be much help but she was totally picky looking online and when we went BM dress shopping and she would look around, i thought the process would take forever until we went into this small store and she tried on this dress and fell in love, so i guess its the same as a wedding dress when they know they know.
