My mom and I are going dress shopping tomorrow ...in Brooklyn. She can't afford to spend too much on her dress....any suggestions on places to shop? Maybe Bensonhurst/Bay Ridge?

good luck and have fun.. i found that once u go to bridal places to look for mother of the bride dress the price hikes up alot.. iwent some where and a dress was like $475 for my mom.. she can easily go to estellys go to the bridal part of it.. and find a dres just as nice for half the price

We are gonna try a place on 18th ave in brooklyn called Doris' Fashions. They sell MOB and bridesmaids. I went in there without her a few weeks ago and saw several in the $189-$229 range, which is A LOT cheaper than at a bridal store.
I was just hoping to get other places to try.

If you're willing to travel to LI I would suggest TriCounty, they have several booths and the prices are great. Not sure what you're looking for, but they have a great variety. HTH
