I need some help ladies a friend of mine just got engaged and is looking for a RH. Can you girls give me some ideas of places based on her description below? TIA!!!!
'Do you know of any wedding reception locations that are not 'typical.' What i mean is no huge chandellers (probably spelled wrong), mirrors, heavy drapes, flowers, yadday yadda yadda. I'm looking for more of a modern kind of place without spending $200 a person.'
Thanks again!!!!

Re: Modern RH Help
Try Chateau Briand, it had an art deco feel. Im going to suggest north ritz club just cause its my Rh n has no chandeliers. But based on ur description, chateau briand should fit quite well.

Trumpets at the Gate....but it is $149pp for Sat. night weddings....kind of close to her cap and there can only be 119 guests.

Definitely try The Metropolitan in Glen Cove. Its more like a modern jazz lounge. Sounds right up her alley!

I agree. I am originally from Glen Cove and this fits her discription. The place is really nice and the food is GREAT!

Re: Modern RH Help
Does the wedding have to be on LI? It sounds like an NYC venue (tribeca, chelsea piers, east side) might have what she's looking for.

Metropolitan. Check out the website- it is not your average place- it is very contemporary and pretty.

The Riviera
We looked at the Riviera, and I don't think I would say it has a 'modern' feel .... it was more like a rustic ski chalet in my opinion.
It didn't have chandeliers, but I don't think it was 'modern' ...
I do think that Chateau Briand, The Metropolitan or North Ritz Club sound like what you are looking for though. Good luck!
