I am unsure if I should get in touch with FMIL about getting her gown. We have just over 3 months until the wedding and last I had left off with FMIL she was just going to buy something off the rack when she had a chance. I dont want to be a pest.. and im also trying to coordinate colors for the dad's and step father's vests/ties to correspond with the mother's colors...we see her 3-4x a year.. if that... TIA girls..

nope both MOB and MOG havent bought dresses. Need to get them on that ASAP...not going to be easy with MOG being that she is disabled on one shoulder and cannot wear heels... My mom cant wear heels due to arthritic knee etc...

As far as I know none of the mothers have looked for dresses. I am hoping they are able to get something in the next month or two since time is quickly running out!

What is it with FMILs? I have no idea what my FIL is planning on wearing. We don't have the best relationship (she's not the warmest person) and they live in FL. When they were in for Thanksgiving - it was like her son and I weren't even planning a wedding - there was hardly any mention of it at all. If I didn't bring it up, they wouldn't have mentioned it at all.
She has never even asked what my colors are going to be or what my mother is planning on wearing. I personally don't care if she shows up in a pastel dress from Walmart at this point (I'm sure it will go perfectly with my fall color theme - yes that was sarcasm). If she wants to look like an idiot at her only son's wedding - let her.

Im wanting to nip this in the bud since the comment of this being FH's 2nd marriage.. so shes not inviting certain friends etc.. also she showed up to FHs first wedding in white....

Send an email - asking how the shopping is going and if she needs any help. Whatever happens though - you can't let it ruin your joy in planning or your wedding day....

I know FHs mom is planning on looking soon and my mom has been looking but hasnt found anything. Tomorrow we're going to look at one more place, I pray we find something.

my mom says she has a dress i could only imagine what god awful dress she THINKS she is wearing FH's mom is looking for a nice pant suit so we shall see what craziness ends up from all this

My FMIL bought her gown off the rack and surprisingly, it's really pretty!!! It's not necessarily the color that I wanted, but I didn't want to make her wear something that she wasn't going to be happy in.
But don't worry, my mom JUST got her dress two weeks ago and our wedding is next month so it will all work out! Just make sure you go somewhere where they can get the dress to you ASAP!!!

My Mom got hers... FFIL asked if I cared what color that she should get since she's never home when we go over there..LOL. I should ask ... but she's got a nice figure so she'll be able to get anything really...

i had to pester FMIL about her gown. she still is not committed to her choice as of now. (her words) the wedding is on the 18th!!!! if i were you i would offer to go shopping with her. that way you can kinda guide her towards something that you think will be nice. good luck.

Not yet....my BMs and I are going in 2 weeks to get their dresses and asked FMIL to come along....so hopefully I can get her to try something on. She is of the mind set that she is not trying on dresses until she loses more weight but I think she should still look and then just get the dress altered to her new size....but what do I know?

My mom ordered hers in August and arrived in November. I was asking MOG all summer to order a dress with no luck. Finally we talked and agreed on a color and she said she would look around. Then in early November all the bridal stores said we are getting really close to deadline cuz it takes 3-5 months to order and receive a MOG dress. When I told her that she said we will go 2nd week in November. 2nd week came and went, cuz she had events then wasn't feeling well. I finally took my future sis in law, went to the mall, found a dress in the color we agreed on, bought the dress in 2 sizes and brought it home for her to try on. It fit, looked amazing and saved me tons of $$ then ordering from a bridal store. So basically, FH and I paid and she has no say. LOL!!! But it really does look fantastic especially for off the (clearance) rack! I have a pic in my album.

I haven't even bothered to find out what FMIL will be wearing. I guess it sounds a lil weird, but I don't particularly care that much. As long as it's not too crazy and is not white. My mom isn't even wearing a special gown, just a dressy blouse and skirt. But I understand FH and I are a bit different from a lot of other people planning their weddings, so I guess I'm not much help!

My FMIL bought a gold gown!!!! I am so mad because my gown is ivory/gold and I told her it was a darker ivory. I wanted to kill her when I found out.
