MOG in JEANS?! OMGGGGGG -- edit, pic added! UPDATED AGAIN!!!
I was looking at some pictures a friend posted on facebook from her cousin's wedding (not in NY) and the dress, ceremony, flowers, cake etc looked beautiful. However, they cut to the pictures of the groom dancing with his mom and she is wearing levis and a sweater with her hair back in a claw clip!!!!
Her makeup looks nice and it looks like she blow dried her hair... but OMG!
Other guests in the background of the pictures were wearing dresses, shirt/tie, etc and it was at a hall, so I don't think it was super-casual!!
I can't wait to hear back from my friend and see why she was wearing jeans to her son's wedding!
Edit: my friend replied with 'lol, she changed in the middle of the reception because she was wearing a skirt and heels.'
UPDATE #2: apparently 2 of the bridesmaids changed before the reception too! one into jeans, one in to a casual skirt.
i was at a friend's wedding where the MOB wore a shirt & slacks...and socks with sandals (in NY)...and she walked the bride down the aisle...oh with a sour puss on her face the whole time...some people!

I went to a wedding upstate where the BRIDE changed into jeans in the middle of the reception. People are crazy!!!!!!! DH had to pry my gown off of me - I didn't want to take it off!

OMG.... LOL!!!! they didnt do the first dance, bride/dad, groom/mom dances till the end of the night so she was already in jeans by that point

At my cousin's wedding in California (at a beautiful Country Club) she was the bride but one her husband's aunts wore a sort of velour track outfit, one of his cousins wore jean shorts, timberland boots and a baseball cap worn backwards and the younger female cousin wore playground clothing. And they sat at the first table on the groom's side. It took all that my side of the family had to keep our mouths closed. They were so inappropriately dressed that I was embarrassed for them.

Maybe I should go to Target and buy some appropriate clothes, leave the tags on and force anyone who does that at my wedding to change. Then if everyone is appropriately dressed I can return it after the wedding.
DH & I went to his BM's wedding in Israel...apparently over there it's normal to wear jeans to weddings...the photographers were in jeans & t-shirts! I must say it was one of the best weddings i've ever been to though..here's a pic.

i'm going to have to battle it out w/ my mom to get her to wear a dress/skirt. my sister lives in wisconsin, and even with the 'low-end wedding' (as some obnoxious co-workers of mine have referred to it ) I'm having, she was still like, 'wow, we're not that fancy around here.'
