MOH and BM questions....Please help and add your plan

I was wondering how long in advance you girls are asking your MOH and BM's? Also, are you choosing their dress or or you allowing them to choose? Thanks : )

I asked most of my girls a ffew weeks after I got engaged.....which was last Sep. And as for the dresses I am picking them out, but want most of them to try them on to make sure it looks good on everyone!

I am giving them a gift at the engagement party, Probably a bag or tote, a shirt with bridesmaid on it, a cute book about being a bridesmaid and some other fun things

I have to approve their dresses first, if I dont like it, then on to the next dress. I am thinking of asking my BP in the next month or so

I asked my MOH and BM about one month ago. I'm choosing their dresses...but I will absolutely ask for their opinions.

We're hostign a party this July just for the BP where we will ask them & everyone will get a newsletter. Gals will get a tank w/ their role on it & the guys will get a golf set (balls/tees, divers, etc)

i sent them packages asking them with cards I made and personalized - once i get the 'yes' their care packages with 'Bridesmaid Handbook' and Bridesmaid 08 tee will be in the mail!!! Cant wait

we asked very early so we can announce it at the eparty which is 7/7/7! I dont think my FH asked his guys yet, he doesnt want to make a big deal out of it like I am - boys will be boys

we asked a few weeks after we got engaged. they've been so helpful and want to get together at least once a month to discuss updates.

im going to choose the color of their dresses, maybe the overall style but basically im going to let them choose what they feel most comfortable in.

Oh i really need to get a move on this lol...i asked some but have to officially ask a couple...i was planning on doing something andhavent gotten around to doing my plan yet but ill do so very soon.

I would honestly wait a little before you ask and here is why: you'll even see this alot on the boards but ALOT of girls complain that their MOH and/or BM's aren't interested in their wedding, act jealous or cause problems. These are girls who they never thought would act this way, if they did im sure they wouldnt ask them to be their MOH. Its funny how some people react to these things and its best to sit and wait and see how your friends are reacting to your engagement.

I have picked out about 8 dresses and ill let them pick out of those...also if they have any suggestions i am definitely willing to consider it. Same with hair, make up and accessories they can do whatever they want.

Great advice and plans girls. I've already asked my MOH because she's my best friend and I wouldn't consider anyone else to be my MOH. As far as the BM's go, I planned on asking them around our one-year mark. How many BM's and GM are you all having? I'm having 1MOH, 4BM's, 2JBM's and 1 FG and 7GM and possibly 1RB.

So far right now i am having 1 MOH, 3 Bridesmaids

FH will have a BM, and maybe 2 or 3 GM

I am not having any juniors and flower girls or ring bearers

I am trying to keep it stress free and hassel free, especially since we are going to OWG for pictures

I asked them all in the month of January. Not all at the same time, but they were asked before I went dress shopping. I didn't have a problem asking my bridal party early because 2 are my sisters, 1 is my FSIL, and the other 3 are girls that I would consider my sisters.

I have picked out dresses and sent them via e-mail when I found 1 I like. The girls are spread out around the country (my sister lives in AZ) so I just figured it would be easier if I knew what I wanted. My sister will be in town for my other sister's graduation party so I am planning on an outing that morning to see the specific dress I want. If someone really has a problem with it I will consider their opinions. I just think it's easier that way.

Nicole, we are going to meet the Priest tonight! I'm so excited! We are doing DJ's this weekend too. I can't wait to talk to photographers though....I have my heart set on going to the beach after our reception for some sunset pics! What photographers did you go to and what were their prices/packages like??

OH wow that is awesome, i had a meeting with a rabbi, and lee cancelled so i have to seriously call him again and set it up again, the temple is like around the block from my house so that is really good. Dont be Nervous, I am sure its going to be fun! I am glad they called u back!!!!!!
What church? Notre Dame?

I went with Martin Willard, hes not a vendor on here, but i loved his work, i loved that hes been shooting for over 15 years and i loved that he didnt have teams of photographers, i know that when i look at his albums they are all his.

That bothered me with alot of places, they were big companies and u dont know who is going to shoot til the day of.

as of now we have 9bm's 1 junior bm, 11gm, 1 fg and 1 rb

Can you believe that one church by us, the one that FSIL is getting married at won't allow an aisle runner or rose petals thrown by FG's. Is this the same for anyone else? I thought that was strange.

Notre Dame is really strict i heard, i know michelle uses holy spirit cause they are soooo much easier to deal with, not as many rules, etc.

That is really nuts
