MOH drama already (a bit long)

MOH drama already (a bit long)

So I'm the first of my friends to get married. It seemed only natural that my best friend since 1st grade would be my MOH. She accepted and was very excited.

Since then she has brought up the bachelorette party. I expressed my idea of wanting to do a spa getaway weekend just with the girls. She wanted to go to a strip club. And then she brought up a club with drag queens.....

Both myself (obviously) and one BM is in a committed relationship so the idea of a bunch of naked men don't really appeal to us. Why is it that she just cant respect my wishes??? She continuously bashes what I want and I'm scared if I leave it to her I just won't enjoy myself.....

Sry for the long vent

im sorry to hear this!!!

what if you sat down with her and explain to her your feelings about this?? Specific reasons as to why you dont want to do a or b....and then kind of go from there...

you can always plan your own bachelorette party....maybe not ideal for you but this way you have peace of mind

wish i could say more to help!! kepp us posted! xo

I agree, you should sit and have a talk with her. The party should be something that makes you happy.

Make her understand...

I made it perfectly clear to all involved that i wanted nothing to do with strippers. They do nothing for me and it would reunion my night and i would not have a good time. I would much rather a fun night out on the town with my girls. This is a celebration for YOU. What good is it if the bride doesnt have fun

I totally agree with what you want to do. I'm not really into naked guys dancing and so on with you.

I would much rather have a spa weekend, or go to a restaurant and maybe a lounge/bar after.

Let your MOH know you're feelings about this, after all it would be YOUR bachelorette party!!!

Good Luck!!

I understand where you are coming from- I don't even want one and everyone is telling me I have to have one.

I did not go to my best friend party because they were going to a strip club and everyone was mad at me. No one got it.

As challenging as it may be- you have to make her understand what you want.

I feel the same exact way about bachelorette parties! You definitely should have a talk with her to really let her know your feelings about this. Maybe she doesn't realize how strongly you feel about it, but if you express your feelings hopefully she will be understanding.

if your FH isnt going to a strip club then tell her that you made a deal with eachother not to! A little white lie wont hurt and it may even help your FH (then he can get out of it too if he wants).....

I am the last of my friends to get married so they are over the whole thing! ha ha ha... which is ok by me!

The best bachelorette party that i went to was a 2 day thing but locally... sat night dinner at grand lux cafe followed by dancing at Glow (on merrick road used to be mirage) then sun am spa packages at sandalwood! It was perfect cause we danced the night away and our feet were ready for a massage!!! Thats exactly what i want to do too! It was perfect!

Re: MOH drama already (a bit long)

thanks so much for the help girls. FH actually just wants to play video games all night with the guys and I def have no problem with that.

I think I'm going to research a couple good places and present it to her as the best poss option for all of us to be happy. Maybe I'll throw in going to a club one night just to appease her.
