MoH Dress Dilemma

MoH Dress Dilemma

Most of you know that my MoH was pregnant and gave birth like three weeks ago this coming week.

She told me that she didn't want to order her dress until she gave birth and then I didn't want her to like do it the next day- I figured after a week she'd go and buy the dress from David's Bridal... to me it was not a big deal at the time as she went through a c-section.
She told me that this past Tuesday she was going to go and get the dress- turns out she got held back at the doctors office and didn't go.

Should I confront her and flat out ask if she still wants to be my MoH? Also I have a florist appointment on the 12th so I need to finalize stuff with them - if I dont' have two BM and one MoH (obviously I'd have to make one of the BM a MoH instead) then I have to pay for one less BM.

Also I did offer for FH and I to drive her to David's so we can do that and get her dress in time for my March 9th wedding.
Any advice on how to handle this? She's my best friend and I don't want to hurt her feelings.

I think so.. jsut ask her if its too much with the baby and all.. if she still says yes just tell her she needs to get the dress asap!

I can understand her not going if she was stuck at the dr's. I think maybe a good way to handle this it to tell her that her not having a dress is making you really worried, and if she really can't do it than she needs to let you know so that you can make other arrangements with your BP and the florist.

im sorta havig te same issue my MOH has been married for about 4 years and has been trying to et prego for a while. Well it finally happened and shes due in September. I know that she says she still wants to do everything and be a part of everything but i know in my heart that having a baby is a life changing experience and she just may not be able to participate.

I say have lunch with her and tell her how your feeling im sure you are very happy about her new baby and you dont want to add ay additional strain to her load. Having her attend the wedding even if shes just a guest is better than nothing at all.

To save some heartache and headaches I just chose a color for the girls to wear from Davids Bridal (Victorian Lilac).

I told them as long as the gown has a shawl or jacket to it (considering it's a jewish ceremony) and that the dress is not tea length, I'd be ok with the style... also they had to email me a pic (or show me) the dress before they purchase it.

I think just talking to her might be good- I am worried and since she is one of my best friends I do want her in the BP... but in the meantime I feel like time is slipping away.

I also got her RSVP the other day too for her and her husband.

Maybe she can't handle it at this time. Ask her is she is overwhelmed and you wouldn't be hurt if she doesn't want to be in it still.

Re: MoH Dress Dilemma

She might be feeling some pressure. Just talk to her (as many have suggested) she could be stalling or just truly busy and overwhelmed with new baby.

I think sometimes Bms and MOHs forget that when they accept the invitation to be in a wedding (its an invite that can be turned down) - that means the accept a lot of responsibility (helping the bride, shoes, show, day of resp., helping day of, pictures, attending, etc.) including getting a dress.

You have a month. Just tell her gently (incase she is in major stress mode) and as you have already generously offered to help her, take her, etc. if shes still resistant just remind her and put it on the table, as to be fair to you, she wanted to wait until after baby, and now its time. This cant wait any longer.
