MOH Issues

MOH Issues

I am not sure if i am overeacting about this. since i got engaged my MOH ( sister) offered no help with anything related to my wedding. More importantly she has been dragging her feet to START looking for her dress. i am having no bridal party so i told her its up to her with what kind of dress she wants . I just prefer the color purple or blue. She keeps saying its too early (my wedding is in April 08).

so i find out through my mother she is going to look on her own time. She doesn't like going week nights when I can go. Meanwhile she works part time and lives 5 minutes from her job. she is always home by 4:00. she works on Saturday & claims Sunday is her catch up day. does she expect me to take off of work every time she has to go dress shopping?!

So should i just shut my mouth and let her pick out her dress, then i can go see what she picked out on my time.

I am just hurt because i didn't give her any kind of grief when she got married. She is my sister & wish she was somewhat involved. Even though we do get along for the most part., we do have our share of arguments. I know if i made a remark she would blow up.

i didn't have a bridal party so i can avoid any drama.... but i am getting it anyway from my own sister.

thanks for listening

I wish I could offer some advice but I am in the exact same boat....hopefully she will come around more as it gets closer to the wedding!

unfortunately she won't... i know her too well... but i am ready to throw in the towel.

i keep telling myself this so petty to get upset about. more important things going on..

i read your post last night... i wish there was something i can say or do... but i will say a prayer for you

Re: MOH Issues

i say you should talk to her... i mean even though she is the only one in the bridal party and yes she will be a big part of the dress decision you should still have final say. It is your wedding after all. Also by her accepting your proposal to be MOH she agreed to help you..not drive you nuts! Maybe there is some reason she is acting out? Maybe she is kind of resentful that it's your turn now? I don't know and i'm not trying to say anything bad about your sister of course.. but sometimes you just never know.. people can be that way. In any case.. i feel sad that you have to deal with this.. and i think you should tell her that this is your day, your time.. and when she had hers you were there for it and for her.. so she should do the same for you.

i think you should tell her how you feel....maybe she isnt into the whole wedding thing right now. Is there anyone else you would want to ask?

i know her too well.... she always thinks she is right & if i say anything it will cause a feud. unfortunately, i don't think she is into it.. i am giving her until end of august..then i will have to ask somebody else.. i hope it doesn't come to that cos it will cause a big family feud.. i just can't believe she is being so difficult......after all she is my sister i would think she is happy for me... i get more support from my FH family.. especially my FMIL !
