MOH speech question

I am having a bit of a dilemma. My cousin is my MOH and I was talking to her one day and asked her if she was going to give a speech at my wedding. She said, 'yeh if I think of something good to say.' Maybe I took it the wrong way but she didnt seem like she wanted to give a speech, but I really want her too. It would mean alot to me but I dont want to push her into it. I know she doesnt have a problem speaking publicly, I think she just thinks it has to be a long, thought out speech. It would mean alot to me even if she just said congratulations and I am so happy for you.

Just had to vent!!!

My MOH wasn't exactly thrilled when I asked her to give a speech either. (Even though her job requires her to do so on a daily basies). I don't think anyone really loves the idea of giving a speech - especially when everyone expects it to be sentimental and/or funny. She ended up doing one, and it is one of my best memories from the reception. I think you should tell your cousin you aren't expecting anything long or overly dramatic, but it would mean a lot to you. Good luck :)

you can always have your mom do a speech if the MOH is not comfortabl with it, talke with ther about it and see what she says
