My sister/MOH is not sure if she is going to do a toast. I know BM usually does toast, is it very common for MOH to as well?

Re: MOH Toast
I think now it is becoming more common. the past 6 or 7 weddings I went to, I think only 1 MOH did not do a toast

Re: MOH Toast
I've been the MOH in two weddings and was asked to do a toast at both. It seems that most weddings I have gone to lately, the BM and MOH make toasts. I think it should be what you want and not what everyone else is doing.

Re: MOH Toast
My sister is my MOH, I didn't ask her to do one but I don't think she would be comfortable doing it. I guess it just depends on your MOH's personality.

My Best man and MOH is doing it- BEst man is the LOUDEST Center Of attention Person in the world- but around crowds he freezes so my MOH is stepping in they are doing it together! I like the idea- more and more people are having that too-

Re: MOH Toast
I think it depends on the person and how comfortable they are infront of crowds. Usually it's the BM, but more and more MOH are doing it now. Talk to your sister and see how she feels about making a toast.

Both the MOH and BM gave toasts at our wedding.

Re: MOH Toast
I like the idea of both the BM and Maid of Honor doing the toast. That way, the guests can get some insight on the couple from both sides...

Re: MOH Toast
Even though more & more are doing it nowadays, I am not doing it...I think I like the traditional 'best Man' speech & that is all

Re: MOH Toast
The past few weddings I have been to there has been a MOH toast, I really like them. I am pretty sure my MOH has already started to write hers.

Re: MOH Toast
I plan on asking my sister, my MOH, to give a speech with the BM. I agree it gives both sides to the couple, and she made me give a speech at her wedding, so I'm making her do one at mine!

Re: MOH Toast
It is not uncommon. I gave one at my brother's wedding.

Re: MOH Toast
My sister was my MOH, I asked her to say a speech and it meant a lot that she did even though she embarrassed a little

I agree...as much as the Best Man tries to give a speech about the couple it's almost always centered around the groom and their experiences together. That's why I'm asking my sister (MOH) to say a little something at our wedding too

Re: MOH Toast
My sister is definitely giving a speech. FH had a funny point, he said that you need the MoH to follow up, to leave people off with a good speech, after the BM's poorly written speech.

Re: MOH Toast
I've never seen the MOH do a toast only the Best man but that is a cute idea, cause the BM is not really a crowd person but my best friend is!!! Thanks for the idea! XOXOXO Kitty
