MOH trouble

MOH trouble

I don't know what to do.....I have 3 younger sisters and I asked the one that is closest in age to me to my maid of honor. She has accepted, but has started to continuously tell me how much she hates weddings and everything to do with them. She doesn't want to go dress shopping or even listen to any of my ideas for DIY projects. I am getting really annoyed because I thought I could lean on her to help me with all this stuff. Earlier today she was 'joking' around about how she is going to make me so miserable that I will kick her out of the wedding party. The problem is.....she may be right.
What should I do? Help!!!!

Re: MOH trouble

Ask her if she'd like to step down. This will give her the opportunity to do so and put the ball in her court. Tell her exactly how you feel and what you need in a MOH.

That's extremely unfair to you! I hope she realizes that its your day and its very stressful enough to plan. How old is she?!!!

Re: MOH trouble

LET HER GO IMMEDIATELY...before u get in to deep to the wedding planning, she sounds like she'd be of no help...

Hey date twin! I would tell her if she is going to cause you grief-then just step down. You don't need added bull$&%t.

I would ask her to step down. It's a shame she is being that way.

Re: MOH trouble

She is 27....I asked her if should would like to be a BM instead of the MOH, but she said if she can't be out of the wedding party totally she might as well be the MOH. The next sister down will be 21 in a couple of months and loves weddings, but I'm afraid that she may feel that she is my second choice. Being 1 of 4 sisters in the family we have always talked about who would be whose MOH and she never had anything to say then. Do I take her out of the wedding party completely?
Instead of being happy she is really bringing me down....

Re: MOH trouble

is it possible that she is jealous? regardless, i think you should be honest with her and tell her what you expect. give her the option of stepping down and to let you know that you are serious, say that she can get back to you in a day or two after she has thought about it and not to give you an answer right then. also say that you don't mind either way b/c the most imporant thing is that you both be happy about the arrangements and overall.

Re: MOH trouble

I would say to her 'look, i need a MOH that is going to help me. and obviously you cant and dont want to do that. but i will give you the chocie of being a bridesmaid or nothing at all.' and see what she picks. As for your other sister being your MOH but feeling like shes your second choice, just tell her that its not working out with sister #1 and you realized now that she would be a lot better for the job. im sure she will be honored you recognized her capabilities. good luck. keep us posted!
