MOH Vent

MOH Vent

First let me say that I love my sister, but she knows how to push my last nerve. Yesterday we both went for our second fitting and she couldn't help but make a nasty comment to me and then she tells the lady in the store that she doesn't miss having me in the hous and she glad that FH is taking me off of her hands. We went to lunch and started talking about RSVP's and seating arrangements. She is trying to take control of the seating arrangements and tells me she wants to sit with my FMIL, why would I do that?? I asked her to call one of our cousin's that hasn't responded and she refuses to make the call. She hasn't even mentioned anything about a bachelorette party. My FSIL called and asked me about it and I said no. She said that since my FH and FSIL are having big birthdays that they were thinking of doing someting for that and we could always add the bachelorette and bachelor party. I appreciate the thought, but I don't want to take from either my FH's or FSIL's birthday. Thanks for listening to my vent.

oh i am sorry, that sux

my MOH/sister makes thoughtless, nasty comments sometimes too, i have learned to just suck it up, but i did mention one time how much it bothered me and she stopped for a time... and then started again, but not as bad. i am just going to deal with it till after the wedding and then see what happens.

is there any way you can say something to her?

I'm sorry for your stress Patty. Since your sis doesn't let you talk what about emailing her.

oh patty i am sorry, that really sux. is this kind of behavior normal for her? i know with my sister it is, so i am not too surprised when she makes a nasty comment about something wedding-related, since she is just as apt to do it about something non-wedding-related. i don't have any other words of advice, just some

Thank you for your good wishes. Unfortuneately she is always like that, I guess that I am being more sensitive, since the wedding is so close.

To me it sounds as if she is covering up on just how much she is ging to miss you. She may feel like she is losing her best friend. Is your sister the only one left at home? Sometimes people put on a mask to hide their true feelings. Maybe that's what she is doing.

Patty,
We are so sorry to hear about this. She needs to respect you especially during your special time. You are in charge of the seating arrangements and everything else that you want at the wedding. She needs to calm down and be very happy and proud that her sister is getting married. Here are some hugs!!

Sounds like she is just jealous. Don't let it bother you and don't hold you tongue. Tell her she is being rude and insensitive and then drop it. We should all pity her, that she is so insecure she needs to put you down.

Good point Marly, I think maybe it is a mixture of things. I know I am extra sensitive lately, my sis knows how to push my buttons, but did so early on, now she is being very good! Maybe write her a letter, sometimes it is easy to just write it all out. Good Luck and here are some
