MOH Vent/Question

MOH Vent/Question

I am curious if anyone ever feels/felt this way. But do you EVER doubt your decision for who you chose for your MOH???

Well I dont have any sisters and I asked my best friend to be my MOH... And shes an amazing person with a VERY kind heart who has ALWAYS been there for me through bad times and good... I love her! But lately I really feel like shes not that into being the MOH and its REALLY getting to me... At first I thought maybe I was just being sensitive but Im starting to realize Im not...

Anytime I bring up something about the wedding or show her something I got like my shoes or ideas I have for the reception... I get a very lukewarm response from her 'o thats nice' and THATS IT!

All she does is complain she has no money for my bridal shower TO ME... Even after the countless times I told her my mother is going to help her and shes got the whole bridal party AND FH's mother who has offered to help... And when my mother says help, she'll practically pay for the whole thing...
Then told me I needed to choose between either a really nice bridal shower or my bachelorette party AWAY somewhere like Vegas because she cant afford both... Then a week later tells me shes going to Vegas with her BF because his friend got them a comped room!!!!! EVEN AFTER she knows how upset/jealous I am that FH is going and IM DYING to go!

And its like I understand she has like no money BUT she has to understand this is once in a lifetime for me and I dont want to HAVE to choose... And I know times are hard right now for everyone so I dont HAVE to go away it just would have been nice to have the offer still on the table and I mean it doesnt have to be Vegas but something else then?

I mean I know for a fact she hasnt done much for my bridal shower cause my mother asked me for her # because shes like she hasnt called me and I dont know what shes waiting for to go look at some places... =/

I guess I am worrying about a few things...
1. If shes not that into this shes not going to put her full energy into it so is she going to flake out on my bridal shower?
2. Shes jealous that Im getting married before her so how deep does that green eyed monster run? Will she not do something for my bridal shower because she would want it for hers and doesnt want me to have it first?
3. Does she not have the time/money to really put any energy into any of this because shes in school, works, has field experience and a bf...

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IM FEELING? WHAT SHOULD I DO? TALK TO HER???
SORRY FOR THE NOVEL... =/

I'm sorry you're going through this...sounds a lot like how my one BM acts with me. It can't hurt to sit down with her and discuss things. It kind of worked for me.

ugh, that is terrible. I would absolutely talk to her. Explain to her that you felt like she was the closest person to you and that she would be the one you wanted to celebrate and plan with and that she doesnt seem to be into it. I wouldnt worry about your Bridal Shower, your mom seems to be on the ball and getting some help from your other BM and FH mom. I pray that she is not going to be spiteful because you are getting married first. Is she the jealous type?? I know for me when my best friend was planning her wedding, I would have that twinge of jealousy as I was not yet engaged. But I knew she is like a sister to me and I wanted to make her day special! Everyone can find the time to plan, money, especially in this economy is tough, but it sounds like there is help out there.

There is of course the chance that she is clueless that you feel this way. as difficult as it is to approach someone you love, this is your day and you need to be happy and not feeling like you are walking on thin ice around someone, or even worse, that person is bringing you down!

This is the happiest time of your life! This should be the least of your problems!!!

Good luck, just talk to her...

Re: MOH Vent/Question

Thank you. I want to talk to her but the only reason I hesitate is that I dont want to offend her and make things worse... =/ Where she'd react in a way like well i dont know what Im doing to NOT react the right way for you... or then Ill be thinking ok shes putting the reaction on because I said something... I mean if it keeps up then yes Im going to say something cause this is the most important day and time in my life and I need someone who has MY best interest at heart and isnt letting the green eyed monster take over... =/

This is once in a lifetime for me and she better get with the program! LOL

Yes she has the tendency to be a jealous person BUT never in a vindictive or vicious way but she can be kind of childish... Like if I show her something its ALWAYS followed by OMG I WANT TO BE ENGAGED ALREADY! (clearly shes jealous =/) And Ive tried the whole ok dont share every detail with her, which is fine BUT shes my MOH I should be able to share anything with her and get an enthusiastic reaction especially that she knows how happy I am to be marrying my FH... And a bad day I can understand... A bad month???

Re: MOH Vent/Question

IM sorry you feel this way! You should talk to her and ask her if being MOH is too much for her at this point in her life. Explain your fellings like the luke warm responses and the fact that she is constantly complaining about money. I totally would because like you said it happens only once and you should have everything you want and dream of and assure her you would do the same for her if it was vice versa
