Mohonk Mountain House

A friend and I were thinking of going away for a Girlfriends Relaxation/Spa weekend sort of thing. Lots of LIWers recommend it but I would love to know more.
How is the food? The rooms? The spa? Is it a good getaway for friends or better for a romantic weekend with DH? I would love to hear your uncensored experiences!!! Thanks.

I've been going there since I was a kid with my family. The place is beautiful, however, it is very old school...the bedrooms are basically bed/bathroom & in the nicer rooms, fireplaces & a little balcony. I don't believe there are TV's in an y of the rooms. They have a TV room on each floor. The lunch is a buffet with a variety of foods & a carving station. Breakfast & dinner are sit down & at dinner I believe a skirt has to be worn (I know guys have to wear a jacket).

The grounds are awesome & there is cross country skiing & ice skating. I don't know too much about the spa b/c that is something new in the past year or so.

To be honest I would think it more suitable for a couple, but that's JMO.
