Mom and Dad dance

Along the same lines as the dance I want with my mother..
As a surprise I wanted the d.j to play my parents wedding song for them to have a dance too..
It was some rare frank sinatra song, but I was able to get it on cd.
Dont you think they would just LOVE that?
I can't help myself, I know it's MY wedding but I just want to do something a little special for my family.. I guess that IS what will make it such a special day for me.

We are doing the same thing. My FILs will be made 40 years when we get married, so we are having the DJ play their song and have them dance and he is also going to play my parents wedding song and have them dance. After that we are giving the bouquet and garter (I will have two of each) to our parents.

I think that is a great idea! I am doing the same thing for my stepmother and dad. I think they will really like that.

We are doing the same thing for our parents. I think it is going to be such a nice touch, and I've never seen it done before (then again, I haven't been to a lot of weddings!!

I did this for my mom and dad
especially b'c my wedding was two days before their 30th
they loved it
on the video my mom was singing the song the whole time.....

We are doing that too. My parents 30th anniversary is 5 days before our wedding so I am going to say a toast to them and have them dance to their wedding song.

Yea, I think keeping it a surprise would be nice.
So, now I have my dance with my mom and my parent dance with each other a surprise...
Hope they dont mess it all up..
I'm bringing my cd's just incase

That's such a nice idea. I really think your parents will be touched. What a great way to learn from example: to see them and their strong bond and the love they still have for each other is inspirational. I think it's great!!!

I hope I didn't come off too sappy!

I know exactly what you mean .. and you are going to love it .. so will they. Just two days before our wedding last year, my brother and his wife (my MOH) celebrated their 10-year anniversary .. so we had our DJ (Eddie-Parameters) play their wedding song (Walk Forever by My Side - by The Alarm) .. they loved it .. my brother had tears rolling down his cheeks .. and I got a great big hug from him when the dance was done! It was so special seeing them dancing to their song .. totally made my night (as if it weren't already special!!). But it was also great because my niece (4yo) got to join them .. about half-way through the song, my husband and I lead her out .. and after a brief moment .. she ran to 'mommy and daddy' .. the only thing I regret was that my little nephew (1 1/2 yo) had fallen asleep just moments before the surprise dance!
