Mom Drama-invitations

Hi girls-- My mom is giving me sh** about when I'm sending out me invites. I was planning on sending them out the first week in April. That way they have 8 weeks till the RSVP date. My mom is glad that I'm giving 8 weeks (thats normal) but is upset because the RSVP date is 1 month before me wedding. That's what the wedding planner said to do.

Girls tell me what you did or what you are doing???

My RSVP date is 4 weeks before (7/25) this is a pretty traditional amount of time but some girls make it earlier if their RH requires an early final count, mine does not. I would make it at least 2 weeks before your final count is due so u have some time to make calls if needed

Our RSVP date was 3 weeks before the wedding, but we also had a smaller wedding. You will need at least 1 week past the RSVP date the call and bug people (you will be surprised how many don't bother to RSVP) and then your caterer will need a final headcount a certain number of days before the wedding. That is how we arrived at 3 weeks. 1 month seems reasonable.

our rsvp date was 11/1 for an 11/29 wedding.

Mine is exactly one month before. Is she upset that its too close or too far? My RH doesn't even ask for the final headcount until 2 days before if we meet the min.

Thank you ladies. My RSVP date is 2 weeks before the final count is due. That's why we did it, so we have time to call people if we need to. She feels that its to far away from the wedding. Thanks girls. Just needed some input.
