Mom is driving me a crazy!

My mom is wonderful and I love her so much but this wedding planning with her is killing me! She was really excited when I got engaged.
the only problem... she wants to do everything!!!
I love that she is so willing to help and is such a big help.... but today... for the 3rd time, she has ordered something without me knowing it.
All I ask is that she run it by me, to make sure it is what me and my FI would like? Is that so wrong???
I know she means well... and I do NOT want her to stop helping me with wedding plans, I just want her to understand this is my FI and I's wedding... and things should be run by us first??

I think your right. Your mom is being sweet for doing these nice things for your but it is your wedding and you should have say in the choices she has been making.

I really don't know a good way to say back off with out it sounds mean you know. Maybe just say mom I know you love me and you are excited about the wedding planning and I appreciate everything you are doing but in the future can you please run things past us.

ahhhh moms! I have the same thing with my mine. I had already subscribed to bridal mags and what does she do w/o askign subscribe to them also so now she gets her own set/copies

I show her things for wedding and she's like BUT how about this.

Love mom very much but had to sit her down and say thanks for ideas but this is our wedding and we have a lot of our own ideas and she kind fo understood- at least she calls before she buys anything now.

It's always a catch 22 however, since we can't complain when she helps out as paying for the wedding can get tough so we do appreciate the help

sounds like you should just have a gentle conversation with her. at least she's excited about it. the only person who even asks me about the wedding is FMIL.
