MOM update

Just got back from the longest day of my life...mom was at the hospital since 10 this morning and went into surgery about 3pm. The surgery lasted 5 hours. Mom is doing well and there were no complications whatsoever. They removed several lymphnodes as a precautionary measure and it was determined that the cancer had not spread outside the mass in her breast. This is great news as her chance of full remission is extremely high knowing that the cancer did not spread to the nodes. She was begging for food and water after the surgery and she said she was not in as much pain as she expected to be. She was acting normal by the time I left at 11pm. She will be in the hospital a few days and she will start chemotherapy in a few weeks. Thank you so much for all of your support and prayers. It really helped knowing many people were thinking of my family. Thank you all.

Great to know she's ok!!!

My mom had lymphoma cancer, and she has been in remission for some time now.

But now it's time to breathe and relax!!! I'm so happy for you and your mom!!!!

AMAZING!!!!! I am so thrilled to hear that your mom came through with flying colors! It's great that it didn't spread to the lymph nodes. That happened to John, which is part of the reason we worry so. I wish your mom all the best!

i am glad to hear your mom is ok. she is very lucky to have you by her side. it is a very hard thing for the entire family to go through i know from experience. good luck and best wishes to you and your family and especially your mom.

I thought riding topless in a convertible...but hey...I am sure she would consider the crowd surfing idea!!! I will tell her tommorrow.

i know how scary this whole thing can be. i'm SOOOOOO glad that the surgery went well and your mom seems to be in good spirits.
