MOMMY-MushBRAIN!

WOW. Im a classic

Ready for this one?
I LOST John Anthony's Diaper Bag!

Nothing valuable or nothing much in it *phew* but Im just annoyed with myself being so absentminded...

I backtracked:
We were at Walmart, in line, about to pay. (I was w/ my MIL). I gave him his bottle as he sat in the cart. So the diaper bag WAS in the bottle.
We drove off. No problem. MIL put the cart down to the side, out of cars way.
We went to eat lunch. I didnt have the diaper bag with me as we entered, so I just said 'Oh, I forgot the diaper bag, but we wont be long, he'll be ok drinking water and eating what we eat'....

When we rolled into the driveway getting home. and as I was taking him out of the car I noticed that it wasnt there

and we did the backtracking thing...

and although there was nothing in it (diapers, wipes, bottle of milk, cheerios (in a cute little holder ) a Kiddie Library book (whats the penalty?? )...
and nothing much else.

But it's the PRINCIPLE that I lost my noodle and I could have had more valuable stuff in it, and I could have forgotten or lost something else... Im so disappointed in myself...

hey at least you didn't lose JA. :) I have never lost my diaper bag but I think sometimes I have lost my mind, and I wish I could backtrack and find it !

Seriously I would be soo upset too not because there was anything valuable but just because it was my stuff (baby's stuff) in there. But don't beat yourself up about it - it happens.

Anna, by any chance would you have left it on the roof of the car? I have done that before. Give your name to the stores you were at in case it turns up.

Anna, I just reread what you wrote and you said 'the diaper bag was in the bottle'

Re: MOMMY-MushBRAIN!

Anna - it happens to the best of us!! Glad there was nothing too valuable in it...

I, myself, left the diaper bag on the roof of the car with my cell phone and wallet in it on the day we were taking Ryan to the allergist. We get about 5 blocks away, I look down to pull out the directions and realize the bag is gone. I panic - tell hubby to pull over - jump out and of course the bag is not on the roof. We drove back so fast and ended up finding the bag with stuff spilled in a little trail about halfway up our block!!!

Boy did I feel ridiculous, especially as one of our neighbors was coming out to collect all the stuff since he actually SAW the bag go flying off the roof...I swear pregnancy and motherhood does something to the brain!!

Call the stores maybe someone did find it??

Hey, don't be so hard on yourself! You have a lot on your mind. I'm just glad nothing valuable was in it.

So the diaper bag WAS in the bottle.

That must have been a mighty small diaper bag!

Anna, maybe you're not a mush brain!

Is it possible someone took it out of the cart??? I say this because my co-worker has had this happen to her and has given me the warning already. As many moms do, she traded in her purse for a diaper bag so she kept her wallet, cell phone, etc. in the diaper bag. Well it was taken at a church bazaar! Right out of the stroller! The people were caught on tape using her CC at a nearby gas station... anyway it seems that *some* unsavory individuals know moms don't just keep diapers and wipes in there and target diaper bags Disgusting!

Yes, I SWEAR the diaper bag WAS in the bottle

Oh and the funny and ironic part about this all...

My goal yesterday (that Ive been procrastinating) was to buy JA a new sippy cup to call his 'LATTE' sippy cup so that he can identify with 1 or 2 sippy cups for milk and we can wean off the bottle...
Well I thought it was sooo weird that we bought 2 new adorable sippy cups and lost his bottle all in a matter of minutes

(And so far, he's throwing the sippy cup aside and wants that bottle... I do have extras, so now its putting this off even more )

Lee, funny story! My brother did that with tons of his paperwork from work went flying all over the street

Kate- I never thought of someone taking it I used to, once in a while, put my wallet in my diaper bag, to condense bags, but I stopped it long ago. I keep my pocketbook glued to my side ALWAYS and the diaper bag is always stuffed with things anyway...

It happens to the best of us. That is why I have a backpack type diaper bag. With so much to carry I would have forgotten or lost mine by now if it wasn't attached to me.

If it makes you feel any better I left my purse at work last night! And my preggo supervisor also did the same thing- LAST NIGHT too. Must have been something in the air.

anna .... I'd lose my head if it wasn't attached. Its totally understandable... Being so close to your due date, running errands w/JA ... you've got a lot going on right now!
