Moms...

Do your moms think you're crazy or is it just mine?

Mom and I are not really talking wedding....I kind of feel like she doesnt understand...
for my eparty she bought some really beautiful peruvian liquor bottles to give out as favors...I didnt want to use them bc FH is Polish and I didnt feel like it would make sense to give out a Peruvian favor on our eparty....
anyway she thinks i'm an insensitive bridezilla bc of this...and now we dont talk wedding...

are your moms very involved in the process?

I feel your pain. My Mom is really getting on my nerves. I have 2 MOHs - my sister and my friend. Before I first started dress shopping, I TOLD my mom I want my friend to come because I value her opinion. She said No, it's a mom daughter thing, maybe when the shopping gets more serious, I can bring a friend. Ummm hello??? am I 5 years old?! I was driving too!!! Ugh. We went to 3 places just me, my mom and sister and i made an appt for the 4th place and I insisted that my friend come. She's coming.

I wish my mom could be more involved, but since she lives in Florida, it's not so easy. Sure, we can send photos back and forth and talk about ideas...but when I start going dress shopping, it'll be with either my best friend or cousin, not my mom. And she and I are really close, so that's kinda hard.
But I know that she's SUPER EXCITED about the wedding and has a few really cool ideas.

Mine is really involved too. And i don't mind, the only time i get upset is when she puts my ideas down or tries to control things- the last time she did that i asked her exactly how much $$ she's putting into the wedding? Nothing, ok, then let the person paying make the decisions...

This exactly. She is consulted as much, if not more than FH is

My mom and I talk about wedding stuff but FH and I are paying for the wedding so it comes down to what we want. But she does like to drive me crazy.

My mom is pretty involved...but also doesn't understand some of the things that are dont at weddings these days (like getting my makeup professionally done and getting a DOC). But she's not paying for the wedding...so she goes along w/ it.

my mom is super involved & i am happy that she is. i am the first daughter getting married, & when my brother got married by moms mother was very sick in the hospital so she is very happy to be involved in all the wedding planning.

My mom is pretty involved, but all decisions are finalized by FH and I. But my mom is really excited about my wedding, possibly more than me. I took some of my BM's yesterday to try on the dress that I had picked out and she came along and then took us all to dinner. So by letting mom be involved, I've also been getting lots of free meals

Re: Moms...

ive posted about this before...my mom has not been that involved since we got engaged...and it has been a struggle because i would like her to try to be more involved...

anyway...we have been engaged more than 9 months now (wow!)...and things have slighlt gotten better..but its taken time..

she came with me to get my wedding dress last weekend...and we were almost in agreement (which is better than her reaction to almost every other dress, haha). so that was good.

im hoping she will get more involved....
