Re: Moms...

My mom is the total opposite.

She's already thinking about dresses for my BP when i haven't even asked them yet and going crazy that i haven't gotten a dress yet. She is also obsessed with the idea of having favors even though FH and i are 100% set on donation. She says, 'you can't have a wedding w/o favors!' I told her yesterday that she's more stressed out about my wedding then i am. Her response was that she wants it to be perfect..

yes aaw... aww...

but believe me, it gets REALLY annoying.

My mom is pretty involved. But she always listens to what I have to say since I'm helping pay for everything

Re: Moms...

i feel kinda bad saying this but i feel that may sister paved the way for me. (she got married in 07) for my sisters wedding i dont think my mom understood the whole wedding hoolpah. and he favorite line was 'isnt it a little early to be doing this' NOW after seeing how planning works bc of my sister she is the one lighting the firecracker under my a$$. so in a sense i feel sorry for my sister but you cant blame my mom for not understanding. it was our first family wedding in like 20 years!!!!

with that said, my mom is very involved. i also think that shes more involved in mine bc we have more of that kind of relationship. we're bffs.

my mom is not very involved which kinda hurts but i know thats just how she is.... if i want opinions on anything ill just ask my sister

ETA: the only thing she felt strongly about was my favors. i wanted to get a cupcake and she went nuts and said no i couldn't possibly (again this is the italian mentality that you must give lenox or mikasa or some trinket at wedding lol)

I have the same problem with my FMIL. I want to have Candied Apples for my favors (HalloweenType stuff) and she keeps mentioning Lenox and I speicifically told her i can't stand Lenox Trinkets because they serve no purpose except to collect dust in a Currio Cabinet somewhere! Arg!

My mom is not very involved. she lives in FL so its hard for her. I wish she would make more of an effort to help and give advice but whatever. I dont think she really gets all the drama that surrounds a wedding. Although i'm having a smaller wedding its still a big event to me

My mom is so not involved! She doesnt think that I should be having a wedding since I have been married before, so everything I do she says 'if thats what you want' My mom went so far to make me think that all my cousins and family will not be coming because they already went to one wedding. After seeing my cousins a few weeks ago at a family party, I found out that they are all so excited for my wedding and they will al lbe there.

My mom is paying for like half of our wedding and she is like semi-involved. She likes to have input sometimes, but she pretty much lets me run the show like I should be.

She also lives in Pittsburgh so wedding plans are hard for her to do on Long Island.

my mom is abroad but is very involved. We talk about the wedding on a daily basis. She has been amazing throughout all of this and has been super supportive which has been amazing. :)

my mom is involved a bit. I discuss ideas with her and show her dresses I like etc. She is pretty go with the flow and doesn't get too involved.

Fh and I make most of the decisions.

It's funny how many of the same feelings some of us have. I just decided last night I am no longer talking 'wedding' with my mom. She thinks she knows everything and is constantly telling me I'm doing things 'wrong' She compares prices to when she was married!!!!!!

She is buying my dress, and she told me she refuses to buy a strapless dress. She thinks I shouldn't have a band, but a DJ. It's ALWAYS something!

It's too bad though because I would of loved to involve her in every detail, but I just can't take it anymore.

GOD it felt good to get that off my chest!!!!
