some info that might help:

Is it my imagination, or do I have a lot more ******l discharge now?
It's not your imagination. During pregnancy, it's quite common to experience increased ******l discharge. Most causes are fairly benign and normal. What you're noticing is probably simply leukorrhea--a mild-smelling milky fluid or discharge, caused by increased blood flow to the area around the ******. It's probably not that different than discharge you experienced before you were pregnant--there's just a lot more of it. (It can also cause Chadwick's sign--a violet or blue coloration of the genitals).

The flow generally increases as you approach labor and can be quite heavy. In fact, an increase and thickening in your discharge towards the end of pregnancy can be a sign of prelabor. You'll also notice a lot of mucus when the mucus plug--a thick seal of mucus on the cervix--loosens, a week or two before labor begins.

Is ******l discharge ever a sign of something serious?
If your discharge changes, pay attention. If it is foul-smelling, thick, yellow, green, or causes itching or burning, it could be a sign of a yeast or other infection. Contact your doctor or midwife immediately, as you'll want to treat it before you deliver your baby.

You should also contact your prenatal care practitioner immediately if you notice a brownish discharge, with no bleeding.

Lisa ... Thanks. I'm hoping that this is nothing, but I have been crampy this morning. I figured someone on the boards would be able to answer faster than the dr at this point. Sometimes its a wait to hear back!

How far along are you? Is the liquid clear?
Your water most likely didn't break if you are not soaking a pad thru in about 2 hours- that is what my midwife told us how to judge. Unless it is one huge gush then you would KNOW.
Your cervix does produce mucus throughout the pregnancy so it can be just that. Let us know what the doctor says.

Ditto what JennRenee said. Did you call your dr? TMI, but I've had a lot of discharge and have been wearing a pantyliner for a couple of months now. The dr said it was normal discharge.

Don't worry, I'm sure everything is just fine!!!

Christine, my dr. told me it is very rare to leak fluid. It's probably increased discharge. Try not to worry, and keep us posted!! to you and baby!!

UUGH! I feel like the complaining preggo lately! Everything was great for such a long time & then two things in a week!!!

Anyway, Did speak to the dr & told him what was going on. Mentioned the fall which I think made me hypersensitive to all things happening down there. I was worried about cramping & then this happened.

About 2 weeks ago, I had a bout with Braxton Hicks. It was very intense & painful. When I spoke to the dr, he asked if I was leaking. I asked him to describe & he did. (I'm sure this put the idea into my head.)

Yesterday, I started cramping again. Not bad, but still, I'm worried. Then I'm sitting with the kids during class & I feel like I just wet myself, not alot, just a little. It wasn't the usual discharge feeling ... well, I run to the bathroom. I didn't have to pee at that moment. I called the dr immediately. I went back to class ... it didn't happen again. But then, I did have to go!

I told him everything that happened & he was pretty sure that it my BLADDER & not my fluid, which made me relieved & totally embarrassed at the same time! He said that some women have this problem b/c your muscles are so relaxed during pregnancy.

Michele ... He said that if it was fluid, that i would have had more of it on regular intervals ... just like you said. He also recommended keeping up the Kegels & to wear a pad if necessary.

Thanks for your support girls! Sorry for the false alarm, but honestly I'm glad it was nothing over something bad!
