When you start solids how many ounces of formula do you still give?

I am interested in this answer as well. Nick's dr. told me start giving him cereal in the morning and night, then a vegetable for lunch. But when I do this, he will not drink a bottle. It seems like he either wants one or the other. I think it is more important for him to get the formula - I am going to ask the dr. about this today.

Now that jillian is 7 months old.. you will have to find tour own pattern since every kid is different.. I tried giving her solids with formula and she would not take it now she drinks about 6 7 oz bottles and have 4 jars of food a day... you just have to try different things.. good luck

Aidan did this as well, and I thought it was important to get the formula in so I gave him the bottle first for a little while. Then about a half hour later as much cereal as he would eat.

By the time he was seven months I was concerned about the drop in formula intake, and the dr said that is to be expected as more is added to his diet.

So it seemed that he peaked with the formula at around 6 months, drinking the most.

Next week he'll be eight months and he still can't take a whole meal right on top of a bottle, I'll wait about an hour and give one or the other til theres a little more room in the belly.

Doesn't it drive you nuts trying to figure it out?? I was told to try bottle first, then cereal or whatever, but when I do that she has no interest in the cereal. So, in the morning, she' sgetting about 3tbsp of cereal mixed with banana, and then she takes a 6 oz bottle. This is at like 9 am. At 11 or so, she either nurses or takes like 3 ounces, then takes a nap. At 1 she has an 8 ounce bottle. At 5, she has the same amount of cereal and fruit and then 6 ounces again. Right before bed at 8 or so she either nurses or takes 4 ounces.
