Moms sure miss their daughters when they move out...

Moms sure miss their daughters when they move out...

for more reasons than the obvious. Men can't help with 'what goes with this...?' kind of questions. Right now I need help with stockings. I want to wear a black skirt with a silver sparkly top. I have great black fabric shoes but need help with stockings. When I see other women they wear very sheer black stockings with a sheen, and you can almost see some skin coming through. I have thin calves and legs. No matter which brand I buy they end up looking opaque. My daughter and DIL both wear Jockey jet black but when I put them on, my calves didn't stretch them out enough so they practically look like black tights. Gee, I hope this makes sense.

Anyway, does anyone else have thin legs and know of very sheer, shiny black stockings that will look dressy?

Thanks so much.

You can try either Victoria's Secret Sheer Black....or if you want something a bit less expensive--try Silk Reflections (can be found in Macy's or Filenes type stores) in Sheer Black.....they both come in 'very sheer' and this should work for you.

I've always worn Silk Reflection panty hose. I get them at the Hanes store out at Tangers, but the black ones don't work for me. They have that thick black look when I wear them, and I just look like I'm wearing tights. They aren't sheer enough for me. If no one has any recommendations, maybe I'll try VS.

Thanks.

Hi Mary, how nice to hear from you. I hope you are well. Guess all the moms feel the same!

My daughter lived with her girlfriend for 6 years and then moved back home for the last year before her wedding. It seemed like I just got used to having her in the house and she was gone again.

I'll try to see you soon.

Hi Mary

You just made me miss my mom LOL. She misses me a lot too...I know it was hard for her to adjust when I moved out almost 3 years ago.

I'm sorry Mrs. TC.

I am no help with the stockings as I find myself buying 3-5 pairs whenever I have an important event because I have similar issues...

As for mom's missing daughters...

My mother is currently going through all our old things and asking what we want to keep and what to pitch. She just called me to tell me that my father was in tears laughing so hard at a 'math test' I made for my sister (we are 8 years apart) when we were both very young.

Post wedding my mother is just itching for something to do as she misses all the mother daughter bonding...

There was a PBS program on last night about the bond between mothers and daughters, I started watching and then fell asleep!

What a lovely story. You know this is something he will keep forever. Those are the memories that bring parents to tears. There's an ad for the Broadway play 'Steele Magnolias' that says - the best emotion is tears through laugher (or is it laughter through tears?)

I'm sorry I missed the PBS program. They usually repeat their shows so I will check for it.
Take care.

What about purchasing off black stockings or charcoal grey ones?

That is what I get occasionally, but they look greyish next to black and not the formal look I want. Some day when I see someone with the look I like, I hope I have the nerve to stop her and ask what brand stockings she is wearing. That's the only way, I think.
Thanks lrs.
