Please tell me I am not the only one with a momzilla!!! I'm a relaxed bride but my mom is out of control. She keeps insisting on dresses for me try on that I don't even like. I tried a couple on today to make her happy even though I don't like them. There are 2 maggie dresses that she likes but I do not; I told if they are at Lillette's I will try them on when I go for my appointment there. If they are not at Lilette's she wants to search all over Long Island and the city so I can try them on for her! You would think it's her wedding dress & not mine! It's just very frustrating dealing with momzilla!

Re: Momzilla!!
OMG my mom is too!! The worst is that I CREATED IT....right after we got engaged I bought her a book called 'The Knot Book for the Mother of the Bride' and now its like she lives by it..ITs actually funny.. I just keep telling myself that its as important of a day for her as it is for my FH and I..
As for dress shopping, I broke ground with her the other day. She came over an hour before we were leaving for the Wedding Salon, and I showed her pictures of what I was thinking, and I calmly said 'I really value your opinions for my dress, however its a decision I need to make on my own. Is it possible to wait for MY reaction to the dress before yours?' Also explain to her how overwhelming the process is and that you'll need to think with a clear head. This worked wonders for me. I also showed her on tv the special on 'Bill & Giuliana's Italian Wedding' that I recorded from the style network. If you look in my photo albums you'll see pics of it. Having her watch it with me totally helped her to understand the 'feeling' I was going for. It also kept everything fresh in her head idea-wise when we got to the Wedding Salon. What was funny is I came out in my #1 and she started crying b/c she loved it too. She insisted that I put on her #1 (This Rivini mermaid gown) and while I didn't want to put it on again (I knew the 1st dress was IT) I did for her, and she had this lightbulb moment and was like 'I think the 1st one', which was MY pic. Just be patient, and try that. It worked for me!

Ahhh I have been in your shoes!!! I wont go into it now because I remember it was an unplesant time...Im just happy we have moved on from it (WEll mostly)...
My mom is being just like yours and I completely understand what you are going thru... it helps to vent about it and honetsly- if you veer need to vent about this I AM YOUR GIRL!! Just be as patient as possible to her face so that you dont hurt her then run inside and scream lol ...
