Morning ladies,

Hi ladies! Hope you are all enjoying your weekends! I just walked in from a great night with friends!!! I am posting early since I will be out all day.

Thank you again Antonella (nilla24) for picking me... I will do you justice!!

I will keep the questions g rated, only because we are classy ladies

If you had to convert religion or vice versa for FH would you? How do you think your family would like that ?

I grew up with both Greek orthodox and Judaism. We celebrated Christmas and Hankauah. I was never baptized. I was brought up American LOL

FH is Jewish, I decide for our children sake to follow my Jewish root and start practicing the religion. When I say practicing the religion, I mean holidays and the bare minimum for religion

My parents don't care on what I decide to do. They had at their wedding both Rabbi and a Priest. As long as I am happy, that all that matters...

EDIT: I realized I didn't answer the second part of my question.

I have no interest in converting religion. no one would care if we did, we're not religious, but going to catholic school i can't shake it and convert...but FH said he would've (he's methodist ) if i wanted him to.

This is a great question. I am Jewish and FH is catholic. I am. Not going to convert nor is he. We have decided that we are going to do both holidays in the house and probably not do either in church or temple. With that being said neither of us are precluded from bringing the kids the church or temple.

My dad is fine with it but my mom is going to be horrible. Honestly I fully expect that she will not talk to me for some time. My mom thinks that because his parents are not alive that we should bring up our kids Jewish because they are not around to care. Horrible.

I am not looking forward to it but as I said to FH it is our life and if she wants to be in it great but we are not going to live in her life.

I am Jewish fh is Catholic( he went to private school his whole life) Religion is a semi important thing to me, though I am not religious as I was when I was younger. We have discussed this issue and the kids will be Jewish.

My parents are also a mixed marriage, my mom would be hurt if were to convert. not sure about my dad.

but neither of are going to convert religions.

Thankfully FH and I are non religious, however we are both born and raised Jewish. I would not convert for someone since I truly do not follow religion in general, and if that person was super religious it just would not work out between us.

We do agree that raising our future kid(s) the way that we were raised will be good, but we do not plan to force the child into Hebrew School and other related activities. They can decide for themself if they want to be active and participate.

wow, its refreshing to see so many people going through this interfaith stuff too.

THis is actually a really tough thing for us. I am Catholic, FH is jewish. I would definitely not convert.

My dad doesnt really care (although I think he woudl be weirded out if the wedding was in a temple) We decided to have a nondenominational wedding bc FH did NOT want a priest and a rabbi. FH's mom got super mad (although she would not admit it) and kept trying to convince me to want a priest so she could get a rabbi. I held my ground, FH started to wimp out but I kept that under control. As for kids, we decided we would continue to celebrate both holidays but skip the religious education part. I kinda want to baptize though and FH is like NO! but then I asked him again recently to consider it and what it means and he got weirded out but then said he'd consider it.

The families say they dont care, and they love us for us, despite our religions...but I'm starting to see thats not true and I'm beginning to resent FH's mom for pressuring me like that.

FH and I are both catholic....so its a bit easier..im not too sure if either of us would change religions....we don't really practice it too much anyway

I am Jewish and FH is Catholic. Neither of us would ever convert just to make the other happy and my family def would not be ok with me converting. Luckily my brother is marrying Catholic first, so we shall see how it all plays out for him....

If me converting was that important to my FH, then I definitely would. I'm not sure how my parents would react to be honest. I'm sure they would be supportive if it was something I was 100% positive about. FH and I are both Catholic though so we don't have that issue.

Both FH and I are not very religious...I wasn't even raised a certain religion...my parents backed away from that after they got married, I was raised to always believe in God and I'm definitely a very spiritual person but I don't follow a religion. FH was raised Catholic...we're getting married at the RH by an ordained minister...not a religious ceremony. If FH was very serious about being Catholic and insisted on having a Catholic ceremony I would have to convert and go through all the stuff and yes I would do it for him.

FH was raised Catholic, and I was raised Protestant.

He does not feel passionately about attending a Catholic church, so we attend a non-denominational Christian church. We couldn't be happier.

My faith is very important to me, and something I would not compromise on. I definitely want to raise my children in a Christian church and I don't think I would want to marry someone who didn't share my faith. It is not just one part of my life, but something that is overarching, so not being able to share it with my husband would be hard for me.

Great question!

I am catholic and FH is jewish. Neither one of us is particularly religious though. We both respect eachother's religion and celebrate eachother's holidays but neither of us have any desire to convert.

So far everyone has been really cool with it, and our parents are currently understanding that we are going to raise our kids as what I call 'jew-olics' we will teach them both, but not force anything specific upon them.

We are both Catholic, but neither of us are religious. I'd convert if I had to. Religion isn't important to me.

ETA: Neither of our families would care if we converted.

FH and I are both Catholic but we are not religious so we don't need to convert.

Wow good question! Well both me and FH are born and raised Catholics. I've gone to catholic school since pre-k but neither of us are very religious, lately FH has been trying to find his religious roots so I've been supportive. But if roles were different and let's say he was Jewish or something I would change if it was important to him and not as important to me. My parents aren't too excited about our non religious wedding but finally got over it so I don't think they would be happy if I changed all together but oh well.. I just see it as a step for 'our' family.

Neither of us practice religion so it is not an issue at all but I don't think I would convert to a religion for anyone because I wouldn't believe in it and would feel like I was disrespecting those who do. It probably wouldn't have worked well if FH was extremely religious.

I am Catholic and FH is Christian. We are both not religious. If our religions were more different and I converted I know my mom would kill me and I think his parents would just complain alot. When it comes to the question if I would ever convert the answer would definitely be no. I can't force myself to be in a certain religion since I don't believe in any specific one despite how my parents raised me. Honestly I couldn't be with a guy that would love religion so much that he needed me to convert because I forsee way too many problems. Thank goodness FH is super open minded like me.
