Money

Original post by suzzi7404

I know we are all in the same boat where we are struggling for money, but I'm desperate. I'm trying to prove to my father (who has money) that I don't need his help and I can afford things on my own. Problem is, I'm an underpaid teacher. So, I was wondering, anyone know a way to make some extra money? Keep it legal ladies LOL

You know, I was thinking today about this while i was walking down the street in Brooklyn. I figured it would be a good idea to actually get a part time weekend job at a catering hall. You know, one that does a lot of weddings. It doesn't have to be the hall you're getting married at but it would serve two purposes. First, you make money, right? Secondly, you would get to see so many weddings, learn about vendors, get ideas, see what people like and incorporate it into your own wedding.

What do you think?

I like this idea.....Im thinking of picking up a part time job on weekends for some extra money.

def. try waitressing. I work in the service industry for extra cash on the weekends, and it's great- flexible hours!

oh yeah... you're a teacher?

tutoring!!!! you can make upwards of $50/hour....

I did that when I was a grad student.... 3X a week really helps out the bills....

all the stores are hiring seasonal help right now- try something high end for big commisions. my brother works for Tiffany's at the Americana & they hire seasonal staff- easy way to make $ quick and a fun place to be too.

i agree with the other ladies---

1) tutoring

2) waitressing

you can do both really. get a job working the weekends waitressing. you'll have to work lots of late hours, but you WILL make good money. i waitressed for 5 yrs., and on the weekends, i easily was able to make most of my rent money in like 3 days in cash!

and if that doesn't work...there's always the hoe stroll...

Good Luck. I think the tutoring thing sounds like a great idea.
