is there ever enough? no, but that is not my question.
i was speaking to chris the other day about our finances. i think we shoudl just combine our accounts now. we have 1 joint savins, but 2 seperate checking accounts. since we are getting married in less then a year, i think it makes sense. how are you guys handling this aspect of getting married?
and ps - he wants to, but after christmas/new years. so most likley this is what we'll do

Even though we don't live together at the moment, we have a joint checking account. We have had this for years now, even before we got engaged. Then we have our own separate accounts. I have my own apartment and he has his houses and co-ops to take care of. Once we are married though we will get rid of our separate accounts and just merge them into one joint account (2 actually -a savings and a checking).

We have a joint account for expenses like rent, utlities, etc. and we kept our personal accounts for personal spending.

I have been thinking about this for a while now. Right now we have separate checking accounts. I pay all of his bills, write his checks out, and just have him sign them. The savings account is in my name but we both put money in there. FH didn't want to get a joint account in the beginning because he has so much debt that he feels bad linking our names together. I think that I will add him to my checking account and maybe we'll both keep separate accounts.

We have a joint account together that is all the wedding funds & extra money for the house! Then we each have our own savings accounts for gifts, emergency & what not. Then we each have our own checking accounts to pay bills. Right now, FH is doing the mortgage & I am doing all the other household bills.
We both put X amount of dollars in each account each week. Once we are married we are going to be combining things but we will each keep separate savings accounts just so that we can buy things for each other without the other knowing...
