At a NY wedding, what do you think the majority of people should give as a gift (money or a gift)if you are paying for the wedding?

The registry is usually for showers and engagment gifts. Cash is most often given at a wedding. You may receive gifts from OOT people.

also gifts at the wedding from close family/friends who feel cash is impersonal

That's interesting...I grew up in Maryland, I always give a gift, usually from registry.

lol when she was planning the Bridal Shower, someone asked my MOH if those registries were the same ones that they should use for the wedding gift... she got so confused b/c she's a native NY'er. I'm from Virginia so I'm somewhat familiar with the gift thing (though I've always given cash myself...), and told her to just say yes.

We want the cash gifts... but we wouldn't be offended to see regular gifts, it's sweet.
