Ok. So FH and I were on track and then there was a bump in the road. We think we may be short some $$ for the wedding.
How have other people dealt with $$ issues....cuz my stomach is in knots and my head has been pounding for 2 days!

Re: Money stress
Maybe try eliminating things such as your CP's, maybe using less flowers...cutting down on stuff at your RH ... otherwise see if you can borrow from family...hope everything works out!

Re: Money stress
see if there are things you can cut back on - like flowers maybe?
is anyone giving you a gift before the wedding? i know that my FILS have offered to give us their gift before the wedding in case we need to use some of the money for the wedding - we dont want to use their gift for the wedding but worse case scenario at least we have the option

Re: Money stress
As far as I know we are not getting gifts before the wedding.
I'm going to the florist tonight, I'll sit down with them and see if/what we can cut back on.
Thanks ladies!!!

Re: Money stress
Melissa, Can you try doing CPs on only every other table, maybe doing candles on the others?
That will save you a chunk of change right there. . .

You can also cut down the photography..maybe less pages in the album.....smaller parents albums..stuff like that!!

and - you don't even HAVE to order albums right away. . .you can wait until you and Pete are a little more comfortable.

That would help out alot!! I'm going to have to sit down and figure out where to cut...it's just so hard to cut when you have everything planned in your head.

Re: Money stress
you might not like this idea - but if we come up short we are borrowing the money. We are going to pay it back right after the wedding. I was very frustrated at first but I guess Ive come to terms with it.

I would cut back on the extras. Maybe pick one extra out of all the vendors that you booked and see which one you want the most! Photography and DJ can be a big one!!!

Re: Money stress
We're 'basically' on our budget, but I still want to throw up every time I think of how much we are spending. You're not alone.
Good luck!

Re: Money stress
Everytime i ran my numbers we were coming up like 5k short and i was really stressed about it. I decided the take out a small loan from my 401k and pay it back right after. It ***** but the interest is being paid back to me and it saves alot of head aches. Im not sure if this is an option for you or your FH but its really not that bad.

Re: Money stress
I cried and cried went over my books then when i finally said enough is enough I sat down with dh and our financial books to see where we stood with our accounts and we decided to dip into our savings after the wedding we will work harder to replenish our accts and it didn't make matters any better being in another wedding 4 months after my wedding I don't know what I was thinking but I am trying to deal with the financial situations I just realized i can't spend as much. I think if you sit down look over your budget and every item that you have spent money on things that you wanted to add personal touches to your wedding with cut back on those things it will save you alot of money.

Re: Money stress
is it possible to cut your guestlist a smidge? that is probably the quickest way to save $$.
