FH & I have a 2009 accord coupe. last year we paid $3,000.00 for a year.
Our new quote with Allstate is $1,130.00 for 6 months. Remember it depends on where you live, driving record, & what your liability limits & deductible are.

I'm in Ohio, so I luckily only pay $500 a year for my Accord. However, when I still had NY insurance, I think I was paying around $1200...I had a 2004 and full coverage.

ETA: I've also had no tickets or accidents (knock on wood), and I know they take that into consideration!

I pay 582 for 6 months for full coverage on my accord. It's an 05 four door.

Re: MONGIE and any other accord drivers

hes saying the huge price hike from my 2001 coupe to the 2010 sedan is based mostly on the fact that its brand new (got mine right off a lease) and that I have an accident from 3 years ago on my record......jeez I guess I have been spoiled all these years that my parents have been paying for it

When I switched from all-state to geico I saved 800 a year without defensive driving.

what limits of liability are you putting in????

also, since it sounds like you have been under your parents policy, technically you have never had insurance before & you are considered more of a risk to insure.

I think you are at the correct amounts.
Think about it this way, what you are insuring are any assets that you may have. If you have no assets then you don't have much to worry about.
If you get into an accident & its your fault & the other person sues you, you have to make sure that you have ample insurance to cover whatever judgement may come to.
If you own a home or condo or you have money in savings then you will want to have more insurance.

ours looks like this:

250/500 bodily
200,000 property
250/500 uninsured motorist
100,000 personal injury
500 dedutible
full glass coverage

$40/day rental reimbursement

Our bodily & uninsured is much higher because we have assets that we don't want to loose in the case of an accident. & Our Medical payments are higher because currently FH has no health insurance.
