In Michigan we have Mongolian BBQ restaurants which I guess ... is similar (sort of) to Hibachi.
You know you like, walk around and collect your meats or vegetables and spices/sauces and then bring it up to the grill where they make it for you?
Is there a place like that on Long Island or in the city?

i don't understand it. these places are amazing and they'd rake in a bagillion dollars here.
of ALL places they should be in NYC.
I'm definitely going next week in Michigan.

Re: Mongolian BBQ
there was definitely one in the bronx that my parents used to take me to...but i have no idea what it's called or whether it's still open. LOVED it, though. we had to stop going when i was in sixth grade and the whole rest of my family went on weight watchers.
ETA I just googled it and there seems to be one in Hanover, NJ called Royal Buffet and Grill. Don't know how far you're willing to travel!!
