I'm gonna attempt to DIY, but I don't know what height the letter should be. I'm on a website that gives you the option of 2inches up to 6 inches and I don't know which height to pick. I was going to pick 5 inches, but I'm not sure. What height did you girls get?

I have been looking for monogram toppers forever and I've read on many sites that the average is 5', this will fit mostly all cakes. I've read that 6' is for larger cakes but it's really up to you.
Are you doing a single letter or 3 letters?

I'm thinking I just want to do the one letter, but I'm having a really hard time finding an 'S' I like. I was on one site last night and found one, but then after I priced it out it was $50...and that was undecorated!

if you do one letter than I think 5' is perfect. $50 is expensive for an undecorated one, Michaels sells undecorated letters but I'm not sure what price.

I was actually in Michaels yesterday, I saw the letters they had, but the S wasn't as 'fancy' as I would like. I wish they had the right kind because they were only 3 bucks! Maybe I will have to contact that craftyeddie guy I've seen other girls use. Thanks for your help!

I needed an 'S' too. I know what you mean about the font. I was looking for a script S forever but even on ebay they were a lot of $$.
I gave in and got it off weddingfactorydirect.com. It is probably the S you didn't like (and I didn't originally like) but it has crystals on it already and it was only $18. I have to say, it is GORGEOUS. I love it.
Oh, and it was 4' I believe. I think it will be totally fine. I'm just doing one letter.

I got mine from craftyeddie, came real fast and came out great! I was confused on the letter height too. I went with a 5inch letter and then 3 inches for our first names because I wanted the 3 letter monogram. But when it came in, I thought the 5 inch was a little too big to have it on the cake with 2 more letters next to it. So now I'm only doing one letter. If I was to do it again, I think I would do a 4 to 4 1/2 inch letter.
