Is it in poor etiquette to use a monogram on an invite with bride's first initial, then FH's last name initial, then groom's initial since you have not assumed his last name yet?

I really don't know if it is 'poor' etiquette. But I chose to use my first initial, his last name initial, his first name initial. My thought was although I did not assume his name yet. The invitation was to the ceremony in which I would assume his name. So, I felt fine with it.

it's common and i don't think poor etiquette at all - you are inviting them to witness the occasion that will change your last name to reflect the one on the monogram.

I was going to do that but a couple of people told me that is not good etiquette so instead I made a monogram with just both of our first initials joined together.

I have also heard that the couple's monogram with the groom's last name or initial shouldn't appear on the invitation or anything pre-wedding. It CAN go on the thank you's though.
Instead, just do the first initials.

I just ordered mine and it has our monogram on it. Some say it shouldn't appear until the reception (after you are already married) but I really like the look of it.
