montauk

Has anyone ever been to the Montauk Manor? How was it. If not, are there any hotels/b&b's you would recommend just for a relaxing romantic weekend? Thanks!!

yep, we love it there. I find it nicer in the off season, you get a lot more for your money. The duplex suites are great, especially those overlooking the Bay!

I've heard Lenhart's Cottages are nice too, with fireplaces and all, but I've never been. It's located on Montauk Hwy before you head into town.

me me me, 2xs. WE LOVE IT! I am not sure if they are all like this, but the room we get supplies all the cooking items you need, you just bring the food. Anda balcony viewing the water. We go usually this time a year, when it's nice and quiet in the area

Thank you so much, I think we are going to book rooms for Valentines Day. Oooh I'm so excited! Do any of the rooms at Montauk Manor have fireplaces?

We love it too!!! We went after our wedding for a few days...and it was very quiet and relaxing (July - but midweek)

if you do go...see if there is a journal in your room...We had one and the stories people wrote were just fantastic...I was bawling with some of them...

Not that I know of, but you can call and ask.

I tried to find those notes Erica referred to from her stay, but I think it was only in that room - I've been there twice since I looked in every drawer for something!

Something similar happened to me in a hotel in the Berkshires....I found a drawer filled with notes from passing guests - it was cool to read about their trips, where they were from, etc.

It was like a journal...and it had our room number on it...

there were stories of a couple who were about to divorce...but came there and fixed their marriage...then a wife took he workaholic husband...b/c the dr told him he would have a heart attack if he did not slow down...the one that got me was the person that stayed there on 9/11

Wow, that would be interesting to read notes/ journals from past guests, I've never heard that before. Well I'm so excited, because booked a room at the manor. It's a duplex w/ full kitchen, etc. It'll be so nice to get away, thanks so much for the info!

Re: montauk

Sure, they have rooms starting at $135 a night, holiday weekends are a 2 night minimum. The rooms get more expensive according to the view, size, etc.
