We've had to push off the honeymoon for a few weeks due to work, but want to do a mini-honeymoon for a long weekend right after the wedding.
I've read great reviews about Montauk, Block Island, and the LI Wine Country, but not sure what would be best in mid-April?

I went to a place about an hour and a half upstate called Emerson Place and they have a super spa there!! And there are some cute little towns near by and woodstock was near by. The hotel was very nice and romantic. Just a thought!!

I would go to Montauk. You will have more options out in Montauk than in the other two places, especially that time of year. And if you decide on Montauk, make it a point to eat at Harvest.

Yes, probably not warm enough for Montauk or Block Island. But, as far as relaxation, both location are wonderful. You can take the ferry to Montauk to BI. I personally love both. Good Luck!

Re: Montauk, Block Island or Wine Country - April?
Just so you know, a lot of restaurants and things in montauk are closed Jan-April. My family has a house there and has been going there for the last 20 years, and it has been my experience that it is very quiet out there then.
I am not discouraging you from going..just saying that a lot of the better restaurants out there are generally closed for those months, so you might want to call around out there first, if you were planning on eating out.
Gosmans, East by Northeast, Harvest, and Oyster Pond I think are closed.

I vote for Wine Country, it's beautiful and relaxing and in April, with the beginning of Spring, I'm sure it will be really nice.

I agree with the other posters that some places might be closed off season.
Have you considered Newport, RI?
I would also highly recommend looking into Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires in Massachusetts, www.canyonranch.com. World's GREATEST spa, beautiful scenery & VERY lush. They have won all sorts of awards. A woman I work with went recently for a week and literally said it was life changing.
