Monthly Baby Expenses?

I dont know if any of you have an idea. Before we TTC, we would like to figure out if financially I can stay home or not. So that way, I know If I have to look into babysitters or daycare.

I have no idea what the monthly expenses of a baby are? Anyone?

i think a lot depends on different things...

breast feeding or formual

disposable diapers or cloth

will you make your own baby food or buy it..

I am sure there are lots more

Well, this is what my son has cost, he is 15 months old:

Formula (is on whole milk now): $28-Enfamil with Iron from Costco-about 10 days worth

Diapers-Huggies (Costco)-32.00-lasts a month

Wipes-Kirkland Brand (Costco)-14.00-lasts a little over a month

I get a discount from my job for the daycare but it would be $300/week for him to go fulltime

Then there is the expense for clothes, shoes, socks, etc.

I think every child is different though so it all depends.

I hope that helped a little!

My daughter had problems with the formulas and had to be on hypo-allergenic formula which is $22.00 a can and lasts about 2 1/2 days. We figure we are spending about $300 a month in formula alone. Then we go through approximately 8-10 diapers a day. I buy 104 diapers for $18.00 so figure $60 a month in diapers. Then you have to buy the vaseline or Desitin. Desitin is about $4 or $5 a tube. The vaseline is about $1.50-$2.00
and will last about a week or two.
Don't forget all the clothes and baby food.
Hope this helps.
