More dress frustrations *wanna vent*

Just wanted to vent.

I know that i still have time to find a dress I love but i'm just so frustrated. I've been to several stores and the only dress i've liked is from Davids Bridal. I really don't want to buy the dress there, the customer service ***** and i've heard such negative things about the dresses themselves. I've been trying to figure out where else I can get something similar if not the same.

I finally found a dress as close as I can probably get on some random website from a store in Mamaroneck, NY. I checked out the dress companies website and for some reason the dress is not on there. I started making phone calls. After calling about 10 different stores in the LI/NYC area, I couldn't find the dress anywhere.

Several of the stores don't even carry the brand in the store anymore so obivously they don't update their webpage. How in the world can you find something then!

One store mentioned that they have a 'loan' program, its $35. Originally I spoke to one woman who said they could get the dress in my size, however when i called yesterday to put the order through,I spoke to a different woman who said, no they just send what they have. Now i'm a little annoyed, I don't mind spending the extra money, but if they send a size 6 when I'm nowhere close to that, it will be a real dissapointment. I'm not going to buy a dress without trying it on first.

Oh, I'm sorry you're having such a hard time finding a dress. Regarding the dress at Davids Bridal, have you tried going to a different DB than the one you originally went to? I have heard that not all the DB's have poor customer service. Some girls have said that they enjoyed their experience with DB. ...I agree that you should not purchase a dress without trying it on....I hope you find a dress that you love!!!!!

I'm sorry, you're having a tough time. Would you travel to Jersey or another close state to try the dress you can't find here. That may be your only option. Or try a different David's Bridal.

well first of all, from what i've noticed at davids bridal they make a lot of their dresses to mimick dresses made by other designers, and then sell them for cheaper.

maybe if you post a pic of the dress on here we will be able to help you find another one like it?

ok if that doesn't help, i know that some girls have used davids and not had any problems. maybe you could make a poll on here and list a few davids bridal salons, and ask the girls which one they think has good service. then maybe you can go to that specific one and order the dress from them.

is there a customer service number on the website of the designer who makes the one you found in mamaroneck? you can call them and ask what stores currently carry their label and they will probably be more up to date over the phone then they are on their website.

trust me i know how you feel, i called about 40 stores to find my dress b/c i refused to order it w/o trying it on...and i finally found it in new jersey. i went and tried it on there, and then ordered it in long island.

i hope you find it, let us know how it works out!

I've been to both DB out here and had an ok experience with one in Westbury and awful with the Smithhaven.

IMO they are so impersonal. You don't get the one on one attention that a bride needs!!!!The place is a wedding factory and the employees tend to not care about the customers because there are way too many of them. They 'assign' someone to however that person is usually dealing with 5 or more brides at the same time.

I just didn't feel special there like I did with some of the other places.

I think you should try a different David Bridal. I have two friends that got their dresses from there and had no complaints. I am sorry you are having such a hard time. I am sure you don't need anything else to stress you out.
