we had a DJ but it was at no price besides tip since he was a friend of a friend

The engagement party is what ever you want it to be. There are not set traditions for it.
Ours was at Villa Umberto's in Elmont. The food was AMAZING! We had a DJ and I got my favors from Wal-Mart Pictures in my e-party album.
