a couple of blocks from there is gantry park, its right on the water with great view of the NYC skyline,i took my e-pics at gantry park...we also went there to take wedding pics and were able to take pics for about 20 mins until they told us to leave although for e-pics they saw us and didnt say anything...we went a few blocks to 5 points after

LIC is great now, they really fixed up the area and alot of great things to do there. I grew up in astoria which is a few minutes away and YEARS ago it was nothing like that...IL's grew up in LIC and it was nothing like the way it is now either.

I was suppose to go to gantry park but the weather was not in our favor that day. LIC/Astoria is becoming the mini Manhattan. I love Steinway Street I use to work around there. I loved the area so diverse.

yeah it can get REAL windy there...even on my wedding day i couldnt even get control of my veil.

Yeah its crazy, astoria is so different now than when i was younger growing up there. Its insane bc not long ago nobody wanted to live in LIC and now they charge $600k for 1 bed apts which S*CKS bc dh and i really would have loved to live there. Astoria though was always a good neighborhood but more family oriented i guess you can say and now its full of manhattan ppl so thats what the difference is.

I grew up on steinway street but on the other side of the boulevard even past ditmars where it was residential...but the stores were a 10 min walk from me so not bad.

I use to work for Astoria Federal Savings on 37th street and sometimes the one on 29th street on 30th ave

My cousin works for Avalon Bay apartments and they are charging so much for the rentals along the water.
