So the Principal of the high school I worked in this past year leaves a message on my machine today saying 'something came up' and he is not coming to the wedding!!!! THE NERVE!!! I will never understand what is wrong with people!! He may have well no-showed - in my book - it's the same thing at this point - he just forewarned me on it!

CALL your hall! They may back out the cost for him! After I gave in my final headcount, we got 2 cancellations and my hall let me back them out...
Edited to add: we got the cancellations 4 days before the wedding...

YES! The no-shows are the WORST! And, believe me, when you're greating all of your guests, table by table, and you see that empty spot, you won't be able to help but calculate in your head who is missing!
