I feel the same way Phyllis. My fiance and I decided we are going to be our own family soon and we have each other now. Family is so weird, they know from the beginning that you are covering the entire cost and they expect all the traditional stuff. Don't they know that we are trying to cut cost where we can, so if we don't have a rehearsal dinner what's the big deal. If we don't have limo's because the ceremony and reception are in the same place, what's the big deal. I'm so glad I live in california and everyone else lives in NY. After the wedding I think I'm going to write letters to those who caused me stress and tell them what I think.
To top it off, they want all these things and I fly in on next Wednesday morning for our Saturday wedding and no one is taking off work to be with me, can you believe that. I feel so alone, but I'm looking forward to the honeymoon and being with my husband.
