more skin tips
Healthy, glowing skin comes from within-and it takes more than
just eating well. Read on to learn how to get your skin in shape
for your big day.
Some tips for washing your skin are:
* Use a gentle cleanser twice a day, and don't scrub! Scrubbing
causes distended capillaries.
* Apply moisturizer immediately after towel-drying your face. You
don't need to rub it in completely for it to be effective; the
primary purpose of moisturizer is to provide a barrier over the
skin. This film keeps your skin's natural moisture from
evaporating.
* Use a nylon loofah glove in the shower with a lactic body acid
to smooth rough spots or bumps on your body. Finish with an
alphahydroxy or betahydroxy lotion.
Try the following recipes for homemade masks and scrubs:
=> Refining Yogurt Mask
Blend fresh: ½ cup plain yogurt, ½ teaspoon lemon juice
Leave the mask on for about 10 minutes, avoiding the eye area.
Don't let it dry so that you have to tug on the skin to remove
it. Press a damp washcloth over your face, removing what you
can. Rinse thoroughly to remove what's left.
=> Silver Egg White Mask
Using a mixer, beat an egg white until it's fluffy.
Follow the same application procedure as with the yogurt mask.
=> Sugar Scrub
After cleansing, mix some white sugar with your cleanser and
water. The rough edges of the sugar will melt away, which makes
this concoction safer than anything store-bought. But don't use
this method if you have 'spider veins' or permanent redness on
your nose and/or cheeks.
If you're anything like me, the slightest hint of stress sends my
skin into overdrive. My face breaks out, and I could carry my
groceries home in the bags under my eyes. It never hurts to use a
little extra care to make sure you're looking your best. Just
make sure that any new treatments you try are well in advance of
your wedding day, so you know how your skin will react
just eating well. Read on to learn how to get your skin in shape
