More Venue Help!

More Venue Help!

FH and I dumped Crest Hollow as an option after reading almost 50/50 split god/bad reviews here and elsewhere..

And found out (from Mr. Russo himself) Vetro maxes out at 120.

Mr. Russo has offered (vaguely) to work with us on the guarantee for a Staturday night which is currently 175 since we are too large for Vetro.

However, I fell in love with the charm and warmth and Long Island-ness and OUTSIDENESS that is Westbury Manor.

FH is in love with the mirror, marble, granite and Italian-ness that is Russo's.

I know Russo's is fabulous, but it's way more expensive and everyone we know has been there before.

Advice? Please? Aside from having to reconcile our difference in personal aesthetics, what do we do?

I'm bias to WM but maybe for your engagement party you can do the mirrors and stuff that he likes. Otherwise, you should both go look at both places again. List the pros and cons to both and see who is giving you more for you $$.

Sorry I know it's not much help but that is what I would probably do

have you checked out jericho terrace? its a little more on the decor of russos but might be a bit of a compromise.

I never went to a wedding at WM but Russos is phenomenal...

FH entire family has all of their affairs there, from christenings, sweet16, engagement brunches, showers, etc............the food is always top notch and the place is really pretty....we looked into it but for a sat night with about 250 guests, we couldn't swing it!!!

I heard great things about WM so why not go for a tasting? Leonards is nice also has similar decor as Russos....

make a list of pros and cons for each place...weigh out what means more to you guys, decor, outdoors, food, price, etc......

I also fell in love with the outdoor of WM, however I felt like that's actually the only nice area in the whole space and they were charging way more than everywhere else we looked.

Leonard's decor is similar to Russo's but way cheaper. And while it's not as extravagant as WM, the outside of the front is gorgeous.
So you get the decor FH likes and what you like which is the outdoor visual impact that guests will get when they arrive.
And for way less than most other places!

The deal breaker for Fh and I was the price. There are things about Leonards that I love, basically everything except the ROOM. But I realized that with things like lighting, and decor I could turn it into my dream.
I figured I'd rather go with a less expensive place where there was only one thing I didn't like than a place that had only one thing I liked.

Anyway just look at as much as possible before you decide. And marriage is all about compromise so you might as well start practicing that now!

Have you looked at Venetian Yacht Club? That has the feel of what your fiance is looking for, I think.
